No I have not jumped ship! (Laughing to self)
Mom’s had time off! I have had some time to myself this week without the children. (five days that is) But that is another blog, perhaps..........
CINCO DE MAYO!!! OLE`!! FIESTA!!!
Anyways in honor of Cinco de Mayo, I would like to talk about a character I can relate to in some ways. That’s right, one of my heroes, Don Quixote. He is an interesting character. Some may say he was loco. But I say he chose to see the world in a different way. He was not your average, man. He saw windmills as monsters, life as a quest, seeking more to life, and he saw a barmaid as a beautiful innocent woman. Is he really that crazy for seeing beauty that others do not?
It’s fine by me if all I ever have is an average house, car, and average clothes. But I do not want to live an average life. I want to be adventurous. I want to live life to the fullest and dig deeper spiritually. I won’t necessarily be charging windmills, but I do seek God’s plans which are always bigger than I can imagine.
Side Dish:
Don’t we all have windmills that we turn into monsters? Sometimes we make a big deal out of nothing, creating unnecessary drama and obstacles. Other times maybe we should be careful of things that seem harmless. Use discernment.

Family humor
I'm the King of the World!
Ya, me too!!
!Edit Add!
Ahoy there mates! (in my best pirate voice)(oh and yes I am this cheesy)
So, I have just been taking it slow today and after watching, Sell This House or something like that this morning, I decided to do a little organizing and cleaning. While cleaning my brain tends to go ninety miles an hour pondering on all sorts of things.
Anyways there are many things in life that bring me joy. Many simple pleasures some fleeting and some that will always remain. So, I thought I'd share a few of the things that brought me joy this week. In random order, here we go:
*The word of God
*Simple moments with my kidos
*The thoughts of toddlers
*A simple request to share the couch , from my husband
*Old comfy jeans(technically only 2 years old) that have a torn knee from crawling on the floor with the kidos
*hooded sweatshirts
*chicken minis from chick-fil-a (with honey mustard and mayo)
*the company of a friend, though miles apart, feels closer
* words , that writing is formed from
* illustrations from God
*revealing truths
*time to be still
*my friend the sparrow
*recognizing moments that define us and beginning new chapters

You could learn a lot from a dwarf. A Narnian dwarf that is, in the thirteenth chapter of the book, The Last Battle. Stubborn creatures the dozen of them were. Their hearts so hardened. They were hardened to the truth that could set them free. Everything seemed so negative, bitter and sour.
This is what I learned.
Hardened hearts
Blind the eyes
They deafen ears
And sour tastes.
Hardened hearts
Refuse what is unseen
And burden themselves
With Pride
And negative energy
How draining
Incapacitating
And frustrating
It must be
To harbor
Such a heart
Bound in their own prison
They snub getting out.
*I have more to say about Narnia, The Chronicles ,and C.S. Lewis, and the exciting journey it took me on.But that my friend, will be another blog.

Rachel Ray just might get some competition!
I title this jokingly! I would never claim to be better than the master
herself! She has been a huge inspiration in the kitchen! Go, ahead
mockers! Mock me for my time spent with food network, but don't expect
me to feed the mouth that mocks! Rachel has given wonderful tips and
has implanted excellent seeds of methods and spices. She is my food
network Hero!
Last night I made a most fabulous mouth watering combination of fare. I
call it Thanksgiving Turkey burger! I pair it with homemade stuffing,
mashed potatoes, savory gravy, and buttered carrots. Let me tell you it
was enough to make me want Thanksgiving Turkey burger everyday. If I'd
have been wearing socks, it would have knocked them off!!!
Call me silly, but a little courage in the kitchen never hurt anyone!
It most definitely lifted my taste buds and gave encouragement
for future ideas. I am proud to be a student to Food Network, it has added some spice to my life!
A Side Dish
Dare to be mocked, dare to be brave, dare to be challenged, sometimes
great things happen in the process. God uses some of the simplest
things to speak to my soul. It's slightly amusing that food could speak
to me about acceptance. Acceptance is nice. It is something we crave.
Few times is it ever satisfied. So, I try to concern myself with
what pleases God and know that He accepts me just the way I am. He
knows me best.

WHOOSH!! THE WHIRLWIND!!!!
I feel like I’ve been in a whirlwind. Whoosh! Last week from Tuesday till Saturday, I was under the weather. My poor husband got sick before me and still can’t seem to shake it. Maybe he should get more sleep! Last Tuesday I attended the Stars game with porschepretty . We had a great time despite my cold. Screaming and hollering for the team only made the throat hurt more later, but how can you go to a game and not cheer?? I’m super excited about the playoffs! The Stars will play their first round against the Colorado Avalanche. I would love to get me some playoff tickets, but unfortunately I don’t have the bling.
I’m still a little dazed post-cold and post- holiday, but I’m slowly getting back on track. I’ve had a lot of time to be quiet and listen, but have yet to put much on paper. It’s a little discouraging, but I know eventually the message will get out. It’s funny sometimes how you get so much all at once and then the coincidences. It’s cool how God works.
Plus what fun would life be or how would I ever grow, if I didn’t receive some challenges? My everything is Christ. I lay down all that I am, all that I have, and all that I love. It is all in God’s hands. I just want to submerge myself in Him. He is my hope. I want to know Him more, I want to dig deeper. This weekend I was once again reminded how I am found in Him. No one comforts or understands like He does, when my heart begins to feel lonely it knows, I am not alone. He is my Rock.
I am so grateful that I have such a loving Savior, without Him, I’d have given up years ago. At times I feel lost or caught up in the ciaos of life, but I never feel lost in my identity. I know I am a daughter of the King. I know I am loved and if only God loved me it would be sufficient. I get discouraged sometimes in my ministry, but He always lifts me up. I refuse to let it be stolen or destroyed. I want to live life in all its fullness. I may be weak, but I remain dedicated to the truth, the way and the life. Thy will be done in all things.

4:00 a.m. Revelation
In the middle of a storm
I sit here and wait.
Strengthening
My faith.
While I am overwhelmed
I know,
God is at the helm
For this chick!
Breaking free
Unbinding a stronghold
Cracking the mold.
Peace is received
From confession
As I learn,
Yet another lesson.
Strengthened by love
Comforted by grace
This pain is erased
As He renews my heart
And restores Joy.

Regurgitation & Complacency
Interesting title I
know. When I think of regurgitation, I think of cows. They regurgitate
their food. When I try to define complacency, I think of contentment or
being unconcerned.I certainly never
want to be complacent about my relationship with Christ. Don’t get me
wrong I am content with Jesus, but I constantly want to grow in the
relationship. I don’t want to come to a stand still, I want to press
on. I don’t want to take two steps back. However, sometimes inevitably
I do take two steps back. I get caught up or hung up or stuck in that
most irritating dwelling place. Some days I make
quite a mess. I loose my patience and get frustrated. I get hung up on
a few stupid things and get irritable with the wrong people. I think it
could be part of being human. Maybe it helps keep us humble. But, it
remains a work in progress.Nipping it in the bud
may require that I stop regurgitating past events or the matter itself.
Why do we do that? Regurgitating, when you think of cows, is quite
disgusting, so should be the act of bringing up past hurts! I guess
that’s what we get for sweeping them under a rug. Maybe our motto
should be, Heal the hurt so you won’t regurgitate it later!
Whatever the case, maybe one day we can learn from it and keep away
from the dwelling place! (Besides, the dwelling place is quite the
dismal spot. Hideous wallpaper peeling off the walls, musty smelling,
and you have to sit on the Lord only knows how old worn and weathered
carpet!)It’s funny to me what
spawned this whole thing. First, off I have been slightly discouraged
this week, dwelling on trivial things. Then today, God gave me two
words. Yes, you guessed them, regurgitation and complacency. Much later
in the day, the icing on my dismal cake, I slammed my cell phone in my
trunk. (No, not on purpose but very much by accident.) Yes, that’s
right I have ruined another cell phone!! My eyes welled with tears and
a few escaped, but I knew it would all be ok. Just a minor
inconvenience and it made me realize just how trivial some things are.
Once again, I heard Him say, Be still and know. It is definitely a
constant theme in my life. I need to focus on Him and enjoy my family,
He is working on the rest.A grateful servant,
