  • I want to be an Eagle
but I feel like a Sparrow
    Sparrows are still beautiful
    but Eagles are stronger

    I'm not sophisticated
I don't know that I'd want to be
    I'm a simple girl
    Divinely loved
It's part of what I have going for me
    It's what makes me shine

    He is my hope
    And one day
    I might be an Eagle
    As I grow
    As I wait
    As I trust in Him.

  • Live Your Life on Purpose

Everyday live your life on purpose. This is your chance. Take nothing for granted!!

  • The Storms of Life

I edited this, tweaked it, in case you read it once already.

    Clearing My Thoughts

Contrary to what some may say
    I actually have my days,
    Where I am quiet.
I call it time to listen,
    Time to make observations.
(Listening and learning go hand in hand)

While I took my bubble bath
    And detox/decompress for the day
I prayed that God would clear a path
    Through the haze
    Of distraction,
    Imprisoned thumping thoughts
    Anxious and overwhelmed
    They had me quite distraught

I'm so thankful for His answer
I'm so grateful for His illustrations
    And undeniable motivations
I'm astounded by His love and constant embrace
And without further ado this is what i have to say
This is what was clear as day

(Maybe i should rename this There will be Bubble Bath....)

    -----------------------------------------------

"I'd better change my wandering ways,
I know I've seen my better days,
Always getting high when I get low.
Well, I left my soul out in the rain,
Lord, what a price I've had to pay.
The storms of life are washin' me away.
Yeah, the storms of life are washin' me away
."      --Randy Travis, Storms of Life

Song Lyrics? Yes, that's right song lyrics clear as day. I love this song. My disclaimer is this, I'm not positive what it meant to Randy, but I can tell you, what it speaks to me.

Stay close to God. Stay in His presence. Seek His word.

This is the first official "dry spell" I've had in three and a half years and I know exactly why. My focus was off. My thoughts unruly and at times down right negative. Then, the big one, not enough truth going in.

As I live and learn, I know first hand NOTHING will fill the void except, CHRIST.

Now, the words, "left my soul out in the rain, Lord what a price I've had to pay." First off with sin comes consequence. Second, well i've done more harm to myself at times and on top of that, we can be our worse critic. The one beautiful thing about all the mistakes i have made is this, God taught me something. He shaped me, molded me, nothing has been a waste.

Somedays and in some circumstances, I do feel like the "storms of life" are washing me away. But, in the end I know the truth.

The "storms of life" are teaching me, shaping me, and preparing me for what is to come.

In the words of my Savior, "Peace be Still."

  • Pep Talk

Life is crazy! Life is a blessing! Sometimes things, just simple little things add up and begin to seem overwhelming. There is so much going on and yet not. There are not enough hours in the day to get it all done, so you do what you can. You have to prioritize and sometimes you just have to be still. Sometimes you have to slow down and take a break. It's ok to stop, snuggle up with your kid and watch a movie or snuggle up with your blanket in a big comfy chair and dive into a good book.

Alot of times it's a good thing to  take a deep breathe and "be still and know that he is GOD." That whether things are hectic, problems big or small, even just trying to form a schedule, that in the middle of these things, God is here. We are not alone and we don't have to struggle alone.

So many good things have happened this week as well as fustrations. I'm going to choose to accentuate the positive and lay it all down at his feet.

  • New Year

    Welcome 2008.

I know it's been awhile since I've blogged. I have been trying to get use to new schedules for sometime. Just when I thought I had it all worked out, then came the holidays. Now I think I am finally back on track.

One of the toughest things in my life is getting organized. (even my thoughts are not organized) I have given up on making plans, because they never work for me. Something always ends up off track. Then I get fustrated and overwhelmed. It's better if I just make a todo list for the day and try my best to mark things off, one at a time.

My hope is to start blogging again at least once a week. It helps keep me in check and helps me to remember what I've been learning. Plus, I've missed my outlet.

    Until next time...

    Peace, love, and(most importantly) Jesus,

  • The Nature of Woman

My friend and I are doing a Bible Study that is actually the fourth book in a series called, Ancient Paths for Modern Women. The fourth book is called, Walking in the Church & in the World.

“God has specifically instructed women to be kind.”            -Judy Gerry

“….encourage the young women… to be kind.”  Titus 2:4,5

If you’re a woman you probably don’t wonder, “Why,” God instructs this. (Maybe because it doesn’t always come naturally.) How many caddy women have you known? God knows I haven’t always been kind. We’ve all hurt and been hurt.

Here is a good example of this nature, but not good examples of behavior we should assert.

The other night I was watching, The Bachelor: the women tell all. I was pulled in by the appalling behavior. You know what “the women told us all about?” The nature of women and what happens when you say what you feel. It was awful, name calling and all. Nothing was spoken in love. A lot of them spoke not only out of hurts but insecurities and some were just flat out cruel.

We don’t have to be friends with everyone. That is not required of us, but being kind is. That’s why when someone hurts us, we can’t just tell them off and go on, or fire right back.

The world is full of hurting people. This world needs kind women. Doesn’t our Father know best?

  • Being a Christian, living it

Somethings in life have regurgitated themselves. However, its all good, because I need peace. God is helping me work through it.

Also, my son scared the snot out of me on Friday. He was ok one minute and in the ones that followed, not so much. His cheeks and ears went rosey and eyes droopy. When we felt his head he was burning up. He also complained of neck pain. So, we took him to the doctor and found out he had strep throat. He has been on antibiotics since Friday night and has not had a temperature since Friday night. Praise the LORD, he is back to himself.

Finally, some thoughts and concerns have been put to paper or computer, and I am compelled to share.

I love how God can and will use every experience, if we will let HIM. We could drive ourselves nuts with "what ifs", but everything we've been through has shaped us into who we are now. (Sometimes things we didn't say may have fallen on deaf ears)...mull over that one... lol

If we call ourselves christians and want to remain true to the title/lifestyle then change is inevitable. We have to move with the growing pains, soak in truth, and seek wisdom, otherwise we will stagnate. Somethings have to change, be unlearned, or relearned. Even some relationships have to dissipate.

I know that is some ways I am reiterating things that I have written before, but sometimes it needs to be reread or heard again. Trust me, I need to hear it to. It is so important that we persevere. It is so important that we do what is right, even when others don't understand. We are not people pleasers. We will never make everyone happy.

    Surround yourselves with positive influences.

STOP, take time to enjoy your family.
Put your Faith in GOD, not people.

  • Praise report

So, today I miraculously evaded an accident. I think it was my Halloween scare, early. I still don't know how the other two cars or myself didn't crash into the lady in the minivan who pulled out in front of us. I'm certain I left skid marks and now I know my brakes are in great working order. All I could think, because it happened so fast, was not my new car! NO!(i'm not sure why i wasn't more worried for myself)

I'm very grateful that my kids were not in the car and that I didn't have to experience the sound of crashing metal. I will probably be soaking in a hot tub later because my whole body tensed up when I slammed on the brakes. Thank you Jesus for protecting me and all the others who could have been involved.

Sunday was very exciting! Sunday I spoke in front of church for the first time for about 3-5 minutes. It was so exciting and my whole body was shaking. I gave a brief testimony about a Bible study we just finished and shared a poem I wrote. I'm really excited to see where God leads me in my ministry to encourage and help women find their identity in Christ and live in the fullness of who God created them to be.

  • Today

    Today was so beautiful

    Today was so good

Why can’t other days be like today

Today His presence was so strong

    There were so many glimpses…

My soul was truly at rest

    My nerves were calm

    Peace was my middle name

    A better attitude

    A better reflection

    Today was a beautiful day.

    It's beautiful what happens,

    When you shine

    Like you were made to!

  • One of those days.....

Yesterday I was having one of those days. One of those days where I woke up overwhelmed, tired out, and wanting to believe everything ugly I have ever felt about myself. I also wanted to believe everything ugly the enemy ever said about me. Nothing I tried on to wear for church looked good. I had a distorted image of myself inside and out.  I was fifteen minutes late for church, but that’s ok because at least I went anyway. I needed to. After church, I put the kids in the car turned the praise music up, put back the sunroof, and took a little drive.

I have been trying to get use to my new schedule, waking up early and then trying to get errands accomplished before picking up kidos from school. I have tried to do less, but when I do that funny thing is less gets done.

This morning I woke up and took it easy. I opened up my Bible Study and this is what I read and thanked God for.

“Scripture is filled with encouragement for our faith because we are so vulnerable to doubt and fear when we feel overwhelmed by life.”

                                                                Barbara Johnson

I am very vulnerable to doubt and fear when I feel overwhelmed by life.

Every morning when I wake up, I should go straight to my Father and His word. Every night before I go to sleep I should spend time with my Father and His word. These are two good habits I would love to get a grip on. I’m up for the challenge.
