  • Yes, I did survive summer. I am trying to adjust to my new schedule. There is just so much I am taking in. Alot of listening, observing, processing, and learning. I guess every year, there is more to learn and more to conquer.

Has anyone ever really thought of the term "grownup"? I think I am constantly in a state of "growing-up". I wonder if I will ever really feel like I am "grownup".

I turned twenty nine last month, most people or women, they start freaking out. I am not afraid of thirty, in fact I look forward to it. My twenties have brought so much growth and wisdom. (most of that was done in the latter half) When your 18-20 you think you know alot. When your 25-27 you realize you were very wrong and that really you've only just begun.... cue the carpenter music....lol. I hope that this year proves to be the best year of my twenties.

The school year has just begun and this year I have a few moments to myself. I hope to be productive. There are somethings I would love to finally organize around the house and I look forward to having quiet time to write. I might even be able to go shopping and remember everything on the list.

    I'm off to bed.....

  • Plan B

    This morning I woke up
    An ugly
    GrUmPY MeSs

The dog next door was howling
    My dog,
    Was whining at my door
I got up to let him in
    I layed down
Only to awake an hour later for more
    DrAmA

    So I got up
    Took a hot bath
TO ease the twitch in my shoulder
And the migrane in my head

    I was fustrated
    I NEEDED sleep
but if it wasn't the dogs
    Or the children
It was the tetris blocks in my head
    I wanted Peace
    And Piece of mind

So when I went to fix my hair
    And it would not obey
I decided to go with the look
Cuz I was already having a CrAzY Day
(And the day is turning out Just FINE!)

  • My sweetest Mother's Day yet....

This morning I awoke to my son throwing open the bedroom door and running to the side of my bed. Leaning over, he planted a kiss on my cheek and greeted me, "Happy Mudders Day!" And with a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face off he ran back to his room.

At church today they brought the children on stage to sing for us. It was a total surprise. As soon as the kids climbed the stage my eyes welled with tears. My son made it on stage first, he stood front and right. My daughter stood to left of the stage, front row as well. She kept walking up to the microphone stand and holding it. She did it at least three times and they kept moving her back. Then the music began, when they started singing and signing I could no longer hold back the tears. My son did his signing really well. My daughter really animated hers and sang out. "Pray for me, Pray for me." ( singing and folding hands and pointing to self with her thumbs.) They both did such a great job, I was laughing and crying at the same time. THey just looked so BIG! Then the little girl behind my daughter was handed a microphone for her solo (she was at least three years older than my daughter) My daughter turned around and looked at the adult standing there and asked, "can i do it?" About 10-20 seconds later she asks again. I was giggling. Then I started thinking and praying, O Lord please don't let her reach for it, or take it. She didn't. I was proud. I think I got a glimpse of her future. I already knew she liked to sing and now I know she likes the stage.

I am blessed. I have two precious kidos. Sometimes, ok most times being a mom is tough, but moments like these make it all worth while!!

  • Empowered by Love

    Hurray the sun is shinning
I am sick of all the storms
    figuratively and literally

    Every time I am encouraged
I have to fight twice as hard
    To keep it
Cause the devil tries to steal it

The devil tries to use it against me
While my Father takes what has me broken
    To mold my life's story
And use it for His glory

God mends my broken spirit. He mends my wings after a fall so that I might soar in his grace and love. Live in victory, abide in Christ, empowered by grace, in His unconditional love. When life seems difficult, emotions run wild, when hurt cripples, rest in your Father's hands. Take your pains, needs, praises, and your heart to your Heavenly Father. It's ok to be a daddy's girl.

  • Just a few things...

American Idol, I just wasn't feeling it this week.

Dancing with the Stars, your kidding right? Joey and Kym in the bottom two? I even voted. They are my favorite. I was totally shocked. If they had gone home that would have been the end of my viewing.

Gilmore Girls, I couldn't decide what upset me more, the Rory and Logan drama or the fact that the series is coming to an end.

On a better note. I got my positive attitude back. I am learning to press on even when I'm exhausted! I got a spa pedicure for the first time. It was wonderful! My toes look so very cute! Man, does it feel nice to get pampered!

I am on a mission called: Operation Forming Good Habits. I hope to do some spring cleaning at home and spiritually, it always seems to coincide. I want to form better habits and remove some that have created more chaos than help.

oh ya and um... help... do you know any support groups for Tetris junkies? Anyone have xbox 360 and want to play??

Gotta run, my husband just started the tetris!

  •  Its over for the Stars...

    -----------------------------

    Relationships

    Some wound us
    Some help us heal
    ONE
    Makes us whole
    (Its outta this world)

    They all teach us
Who is willing to be real
    THat we are relational
    And know how to feel

    Do we make sacrifices
    Become the sacrifice
    Or do just enough
    to suffice one another

    Do the foundations
    Rest on Sand
    Or are they centered
    in Christ

    Relationships

    Some wound us
    Some help us heal
    Some wither and fade
    Some remain
    But all play a role
    Some more than others

  • Time after Time

    Another growing pain

    Faith is what sustains

    This weary woman

    Tossed and torn

    Broken for newness

Because joy comes in the morning

    Things rarely remain

    The same

    And really

Why would we want them too?

  • Argh u menative

Does anyone else have arguments in their head? You know an argument with the world, yourself, someone you've recently spoke to, or has wronged you? I'm pretty sure I do this every week, if not everyday. (I tell myself it's a woman thing.) The funny part is I'm usually a decent way into this mock argument before I even realize what I am doing. Maybe it's called rationalizing.

  • I get so emotional, baby...........

I love being a woman. But, the hardest part is controlling my emotions. I wouldn't mind the emotions so much if could just tame them to work for me instead of against me. I know I am human and feelings are a part of the description. The antidote or prescription is self control; renewing the mind and heart conquering the fear and doubt as well as focusing on positives and surrendering it all over to God. We are broken to be made new, because it is necessary for character building and gaining wisdom. It is not always brokenness that we fear I believe that most times it’s the cost. The ending of relationships, changing attitudes, breaking questionable habits, these are just a few examples of the cost. Really in the long run they prove to be small sacrifices. Who needs crutches if you are able to walk?

No simple solutions, just a simple girl

Anything that demands solution or resolution usually demands patience and trial. No pain, no gain right?
